As a parent, and a now single one, there are times when I could completely want to disconnect. I could continually be consumed with self, doing my "own thing", and be somewhat justified in doing so. After all, I'm in my 40's, given a second chance, and transforming my life.........
In the events of the past week and months, in which tragedies happen and lives are lost in our nation, in my humble opinion, we need to step it up. Why do we not know what our "kids" are doing, why are we disconnected......and why are we okay with it.
At any point, had I chosen to disconnect from my kids and the culture, God knows what path they could have taken. I know our family may seem "put together", but it is with great vigilance that we remain on the paths we are called to walk. I chose to be vigilant, which ignited and inspired each.
Today marks the start of a new official Boys Volleyball season, after Logan attended tryouts. He will be traveling a distance for club; but as you know, we will go smile emoticon I look back on the last 9 months and stand amazed at the timing of our Cali life, coming home, and how things have played out.............
There can be anxieties connected to college choices and getting everything done on his part. A few weeks ago, I suggested he lay out a Gideon type of "fleece" in which he asks the Lord in heaven for a specific sign. Wouldn't you know Logan got what he was looking for........ smile emoticon
Likewise, while my oldest was looking to buy a car, and had done his homework on it for weeks, we had a similar experience. I came home in the last week to find him looking on an auto dealer website at a vehicle. This dealer happened to be the same one I "happened" to see 3 signs for earlier in the day......
Within in a few days we were headed there, in the right direction.
That's how we roll.
Dynamic. Faith. Living. Connecting.
I have been asked to consider opening my home to a young CA friend, who is seeking temporary housing. He feels part of our family. He is looking. There is potential. I am considering. #connecting
I will keep you posted. Do more. Be more. Nite.
